Kate is a communications whiz with a degree from Newhouse School at Syracuse University. She lives on the Maine coast with her husband and dog, is an out-and-proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and she’s been told she has major golden retriever energy.

J.C. is a mental health specialist with a master’s from Penn State University. When not writing, she can be found watching Gladiator for the 1084th time or cursing at her PS5 in Sindarin. Her debut short story, The Blue Mausoleum, was published in a horror anthology in 2023.

Kate and J.C. first met in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. (Kate’s tiefling barbarian successfully romanced J.C.’s hot-tempered elf druid.) Although they’re now separated by half a country, they maintain a long-distance best friendship and write together every single day.
